Good morning from the west coast. On my mind this morning is the social calendar for law students this summer, and specifically the social calendar organized by your employer. I'm wondering who has done some cool things this summer, or what kinds of cool events does your firm, organization, company, etc. have planned for you?
I suppose the real question I have is whether your employer has cut back form the events they've put on in the past (presumably many have because of the recession). The firm I'm at this summer has treated me very well... a couple of baseball games, a golf outing, potential fishing trips, etc., although occasionally a partner is picking up the tab rather than the firm.
So two questions I guess - (1) What fun things has your employer set you up with, and (2) Has your employer cut back on the social calendar budget in light of the economy? Also, as you are probably well aware, a lot of things are happening right now in the legal world... a couple of big Supreme Court decisions (gun rights, religious exclusion), a new potential Supreme Court justice, arbitrary grade inflation (this one still really irks me), etc. Feel free to comment as your heart desires.

going to a Red’s game…. and according to the MLB standings…. it should be a good thing this year! I think everybody is feeling the pinch, but people are still spending! I just hope there’s some left for, dare I say, retirement! too soon to be worrying about that???
Baseball games seem to be the most popular option- My firm also took us to a game. It was great!
