Non-Traditional Job Opportunities For JDs

posted by Christy

I feel like law school has prepared me to take the bar and my summer internship has taught me to work at a law firm, but what else is out there?  I'm pretty sure that I want to practice law when I graduate but I would still like to weigh my options and find out exactly what the possibilities are for students who hold a JD.  There is no safe bet in this job market, especially at law firms.  Check out this article, which outlines a few alternative options for law students.  You can also read Grant's article on what to do with your law degree besides working in a law firm.

If you choose to apply your degree outside a law firm, let us know what you are doing and how you like it.
