Hope in Rejection

posted by Mac

Merry Monday. Lets take a trip down my memory lane for a quick moment. When I was a Junior in undergrad I applied for an executive position on a student-run fundraising event. I thought I was a shoe-in because I had two years of experience on a committee and was heavily involved with the event. Well, long story short...I didn't get the position. Ouch. I had the same feeling of rejection when I was turned down from the college I thought I wanted to attend. But you know what? It's funny how things work out. Once we get over the initial haymaker to the gut, "rejections" actually open doors to a lot of other opportunities. Had I been accepted to my school of choice, I would never have met the people in my life that motivate and encourage me everyday. Had I been chosen for the executive position, I probably would not have become involved in other philanthropic events. Most of the time, things work out one way or another. And don't worry, all of us who have been turned down are in good company.

don’t you agree that your best growth comes from rejection, challenges and disappointments.  they show you what you are made of.
