Deal or No Deal?
President Obama took to the airwaves last night to announce to the American people that Congress had reached a deal to increase the debt ceiling. Noting that the measure had not been voted on his Congress as of yet, the President was optimistic that it soon would be. So after all this fuss and attention, deal or no deal? Well, in my humble opinion, it’s barely … continue

Norway Attack: Only 21 years for Anders Behring Breivik?
Anders Behring Breivik, the 32-year-old Norwegian man who has admitted to a shooting massacre and a bombing that killed at least 93 people in the worst attacks in Norway since the Second World War, could only be behind bars for 21 years. Harry Potter Lawsuit: Vladimir Putin v. Dobby The House Elf
I can't believe that I missed this hilarious piece of Harry Potter legal news when it first came out in 2003, but if you're like me and were too caught up in the HP madness to discover this gem, then here is another look at the Vladimir Putin v. Dobby the House Elf dispute.
After the release of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in November 2002, some fans recognized a strange resemblance between Dobby, a computer generated house elf in the Harry Potter movie and then Russian President Vladimir Putin. Either Putin is a huge Harry Potter fan or someone from his staff alerted him to similarity, because soon after the film was released Putin apparently became upset at the resemblance and claimed that Warner Brothers had stolen his likeness. Warner Brothers and the filmmakers denied any intentional depiction of the Russian President.
I have to admit there are a few facial similarities, but seriously, how self-conscious do you have to be to look at a bald, gray, floppy eared, rag wearing house elf and see your reflection.
A group of Russian attorneys threatened to sue Warner Brothers, but decided to drop the suit before anything was filed in court.
