About The Law Street Journal

Everything You Need To Know About Law School, But Were Afraid To Ask

The Law Street Journal is a comprehensive resource managed by law students serving the needs of prospective and current students through the free exchange of knowledge and shared experiences.

This website is geared towards the questions that can only get answered through trial and error.  We hope you enjoy reading through our trials, so you don't have to make the same errors we did.  Law school experiences may vary, but they are also very similar.  The Law Street Journal is a place where our collective experiences and information can be pooled and accessed. We want to form a community of support and advice so that our colleagues across the country can succeed and ultimately better our profession.

Meet The Authors

Allie

Allie
allie@thelawstreetjournal.com

Allie is a third year law student. She graduated from a small liberal arts college in 2008, married that same summer, and started law school in the fall. Talk about transitions! When she’s not studying, she loves to be with her hubby, Dustin. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, cooking, crocheting, gardening, and decorating her home. Her favorite shows are Friends, Fringe, 30 Rock, Modern Family, Project Runway, and Top Chef. She has no idea what area of law she wants to practice in but is most drawn to areas involving torts- she is fluent in Spanish and hopes to incorporate that into her legal career.

Grant

Grant

Grant is a recent law school graduate and focuses his legal practice on general corporate law matters. He hated law school more than most people and refused to study (if only this were true). When he isn’t at work, he spends his time watching the Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Hoosiers, playing guitar, piano, or drums, coaching a little league basketball team, or remodeling a house.
Mac

Mac is in his third year of a JD/MBA joint degree program and is interested in pursuing a career in transactional law. He enjoys drinking fresh coffee on his porch during a crisp morning, the weeping of a pedal steel, and the company and laughter of friends.
